PIL against the practice of the Credit Bureaus
Date - 07.05.2022Dr. Hiten Mehta filed a PIL before the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay, against the practice of the Credit Bureaus of the country wherein they update the information provided to them by the Banks without verifying and confirming the same from such individuals. The said PIL was admitted by the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay and is sub judice before the Court. Consequent to the said PIL, the RBI has imposed a heavy penalty on all such credit bureaus for wrongful information being put on their websites. .
PIL against the movie Gangubai Kathiyawadi
Date - 06.06.2022Dr. Hiten Mehta filed a PIL before the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay, against the movie Gangubai Kathiyawadi starring Alia Bhatt and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, before its release on the grounds of one of the scenes in the movie as shown in the trailer being derogatory towards the North Eastern citizens of the country. The said PIL was admitted by the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay wherein as per the directions, the Respondents therein assured to remove the impugned scene from the movie. .
